Blessed is He who Fears the Lord

1Praise ye Jah!

O the happiness of one fearing Jehovah, >

ב

In His commands he hath delighted greatly.

ג

2Mighty in the earth is his seed,

ד

The generation of the upright is blessed.

ה

3Wealth and riches [are] in his house,

ו

And his righteousness is standing for ever.

ז

4Light hath risen in darkness to the upright,

ח

Gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

ט

5Good [is] the man — gracious and lending,

י

He sustaineth his matters in judgment.

כ

6For — to the age he is not moved;

ל

For a memorial age-during is the righteous.

מ

7Of an evil report he is not afraid,

נ

Prepared is His heart, confident in Jehovah.

ס

8Sustained is his heart — he feareth not,

ע

Till that he look on his adversaries.

פ

9He hath scattered — hath given to the needy,

צ

His righteousness is standing for ever,

ק

His horn is exalted with honour.

ר

10The wicked seeth, and hath been angry,

ש

His teeth he gnasheth, and hath melted,

ת

The desire of the wicked doth perish!
